Arba Minch Water Technology Institute offered a basic python for environmental data processing training for staff to enhance research capabilities and promote technological advancements from October to November 2023.Click here to see more photos.

AWTi Scientific Director Dr. Bogale G/mariam said that such trainings will greatly enhance the content, quality, and timeliness of research works. He also noted that the training was a part of a broader strategy to cultivate qualified teachers and researchers who will enable the university to make substantial contributions to the nation’s development.

Dr. Demelash Wondimagegnehu, Academic Affairs Director of AWTi, said the training was conducted by our academic staff members who had taken the trainers’ training. He also emphasized that the training enhances institutional capacity to utilize collected information for research purposes efficiently and facilitates learning, teaching, and research work.

In his closing remark, Training Supervisor Mr. Johannes Dirk Dingemanse highlighted the importance and value of the training and its potential to expedite the use of meteorological data for research through coding.

The trainee staff expressed their gratitude for the training opportunity that enhances their skills of teaching and research. They also acknowledged the immense benefits they gained from learning how to utilize Python for environmental data processing.

Participatory certificates were handed over to 15 trainee participants who successfully completed 40 hrs/five weeks/ consecutive training held from October to November, 2023.
