Science, the way out for present global problems: Researchers

The symposium, ‘Science for Sustainable Development,’ generated much-needed synergy as participants from 25 universities intensely deliberated upon the importance of science from 19th to 20th June 2015 at new auditorium, Main Campus.

This two-day symposium was jointly organized by AMU’s three colleges, College of Natural Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Medicine and Health Sciences purported to create a forum for exchange and discussion on sustainable development through science between scientists and researchers. Mirab Abaya: AMU signs Pact with Gamo Gofa Zone Agri Office

To address the key environmental issues of land degradation and denudation of forest at Mirab Abaya, AMU’s Community Service Directorate has recently signed a yearlong Memorandum of Understanding with Gamo Gofa Zone Agricultural office at university Main Campus.

University President, Dr Feleke Woldeyes, signing the agreement, said, ‘‘this step is a way forward that shows AMU’s commitment to serve the community and concern for environment protection.  Click here to see Pictures.

Annual National Symposium on Science for Sustainable Development (NSSD)

The aim of this symposium series is to create a forum for exchange and discussion on sustainable development though science between scientists and researchers from different fields of Science: Agriculture, Natural Sciences, and Medicine and Health sciences.

AMU to host 27th Convocation on June 27 at Abaya Campus

Arba Minch University will be conducting its 27th Convocation at Abaya Campus-based new Assembly Hall on 27th June 2015, from 8 am onwards, in the presence of various dignitaries, university top officials, academic, admin, support staff and relatives of the graduating students.

AMU signs construction pacts for Sawla Campus, 3 more projects

Arba Minch University has signed four construction project agreements worth ETB 70.49 Million with Arba Minch-based Anjulo Arshe Building Construction Company at President’s office, New Management Builidng on 20th May, 2015. All projects are slated to be completed in a year.
