Arba Minch University will be celebrating 12th Ethiopian Nations, Nationalities and People’s Day with great zeal and enthusiasm on 4th December, 2017, at new auditorium, Main Campus, in the presence entire university community. At national level, the event will be celebrated in Afar state on 8th December, 2017, under the theme: ‘Our Constitutional and colourful multi-nationalism for our Renaissance.’

In this regard, AMU management has constituted several committees under the leadership of President, Dr Damtew Darza and vice presidents for different assigned tasks to be carried out so that this 12th national event is successfully organized.

The program will begin at 8.30 am, wherein Arba Minch Town Cultural Band will set the tone for the day by rendering ethnic numbers, followed by cultural dance; community school kids will also present a song.

The main agenda of the program will be ‘panel discussions on ‘federalism, unity in diversity, recent issues including equity, etc.’ to inform the gathering about overall achievements made so far by the present government and their ambitious plan to achieve remarkable economic growth, to establish peace and social harmony across the nation.

Apart from this, a brief in-door sporting events and a quiz contest for students on the topics of panel discussion will also be held; the winners will be suitably felicitated.

Entire university community including academic, administrative staff, students, patrons, well-wishers, stakeholders and others are cordially invited to grace the occasion.
