Dr. Medikonda Anil Kumar has attended APCC Climate Center conference in South Korea Busan Republic of Koreafrom Aug 17th to 27th. 2013. The main theme of this conference is in Producing High Resolution Climate Information and scientific basis application by using dynamic and statistical downscaling methods. He has presented a paper on Madden Julian Oscilations (MJO) on climate change in connection to climate modeling and has answered five questions from participants in a widely interactive session. Questions are

a. Importance of MJO prediction in atmospheric sciences

b. Major role of intra seasonal oscillations in climate modeling

c. Application of Dynamic and Statistical down scaling methods in prediction of intra seasonal and seasonal oscillations

d. Connection between MJO created dynamics over African regions. and

E. MJO connection to cyclone formation warm pool, Indian monsoon systems, Indian ocean dipole mood and Elnino and southern oscillations

Dr. Anil Kumar asked some very interesting questions to other paper presenters  and as these are a. Why is the climate models generated output not well compared with observations b. Difficulties in monitoring gravity waves, Rossby waves and Kelvin Waves as well as mixed Rossby and Gravity waves in climate models or atmospheric models because waves are playing major role in distribution of energy in the atmosphere. C. Difficulties in prediction of Tsunamis d. Modification of Physical parameterization of schemes. E. Why models are not well monitoring small scale process

Dr. Anil Kumar has pointed out, in general discussion among scientists and professors, the ultimate goal of research should be in increasing human life span.  He has also stressed that in development of new science & technology in civilization of human beings, it is that everyone looks after comfortable life but at the same time neglect short time period that humans live.

Many interesting topics of discussion came to fore as Dr. Medikonda progressed in his seminar as he points out dangerous phenomena in climate change in global warming and others. As he stated world wide scientist collaboration with CSIR India in travelling to Artic and Atlantic ocean using research cruises and says further that spraying iron ore ferrous to reduce Carbon dioxide concentration (CFCL2) in atmosphere that cause global warming. He also runs the output of Global Regional Climate Model System (GRIMS) to forecast future atmosphere conditions
