We are proud of all you for giving your best at the short notice, especially in organizing several events that have successfully led us to achieve the objective of Arba Minch University. And by felicitating all of you, AMU reposes its faith and confidence in you, said the President, Dr Feleke Woldeyes. Presiding over the event, the President addressed the gathering of selected 100 individuals who were honored for their valuable contributions in successfully organizing events i.e. 2005 Convocation, Nations, Nationalities and People’s & Flag Day celebrations, exhibition at Addis Ababa and ‘Cities Week’. The program was held at Teacher’s lounge, Main Campus on January 11, 2014.
Dr Feleke further adds, ‘‘Above events required high level of preparedness and organizing ability, that have been carried out with great panache by all. Winning the exhibition in Addis Ababa was like an icing on the cake; and it has reinforced our faith in you. Therefore, with great happiness, I acknowledge, the contribution of academic, administrative and students, who have proved that everything is possible.’’
Having achieved the desired results at national level, he was also open for the idea of AMU participating at global level and sought Corporate Communication Directorate to take initiative in that direction.
Hinting at forthcoming anniversary program, he informed, ‘‘It will be organized on the larger scale. We would plan it in right perspective and with everyone putting in their mite, we will make it big.’’
The event began with Corporate Communication Directorate’s Director, Mr Genene Gedebu Feleha, informing the gathering about the purpose of event. Dr Feleke distributed the certificate of participation to all 100 individuals amid huge applause.
The evening event reached to the crescendo with everyone including President Dr Felek and Dr Agena shaking legs in jubilation with enthusiastic students, whose joy knows no bound as they danced and sang all the way.
