Integrated Adult Education Program: Training for trainers held

As a curtain-raiser to Integrated Functional Adult Education Program, Arba Minch University’s Community Service Core Process Service Learning Coordination office has conducted a three-day training workshop for selected 24 trainers At Academic Development and Resource Centre (ADRC), Main Campus from November 30 to December 2.

CLARA Project Dissemination event on 13th of February 2014 at friendship international Hotel Addis Ababa

The CLARA project started in March 2011 and had duration of 3 years. The project overall objective is to develop simplified planning tool (CLARA SPT) for pre-planning of water supply and sanitation for peri-urban/Urban areas in Africa.

College of Natural Science reviews curricula of two new MSc programs

College of Natural Science has reviewed the curricula of two of its new master programs i.e. MSc in Wildlife Management and MSc in Medical Entomology & Disease Vector Control in a daylong meet held at its premises on 14th January, 2014.
Assistant Professor in Biology and Coordinator of PG Studies, Dr Serekebirhan Takele, presenting the curriculum of MSc in Wildlife Management, said, ‘‘Wildlife management is the art and science of managing wildlife populations and their habitats while being cognizant of the attitudes of local communities’’.

Symposium on ‘Fruits & Vegetable Production and Marketing’ from 9th May

Arba Minch University’s College of Agricultural Sciences has invited papers on different themes to be the part of a two-day national seminar on ‘Fruits and Vegetable Production and Marketing’; which will be held at Main Campus from 9th to 10th May, 2014.

Dept of Economics reviews MA in Development Economics’ curriculum

College of Business & Economics’ Department of Economics has conducted an internal review workshop on one of its two new Post-Graduate programs to be launched in the next academic year – ‘MA in Development Economics’ at Lecture Theatre, Main Campus on 25th June, 2014. MSc in Agricultural Economics is the second program department is contemplating to introduce.
