Arba Minch University Law School students Team wins International Committee of Red Cross, ICRC, National Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law held in Addis Ababa from May 29-30/2023. Click here to see the Pictures!

Mr. Emishaw Teshome, a coach of the team said that the competition is being organized by ICRC on the theme of “International Humanitarian Law and Humanitarian Access”. According to him, universities were first requested to submit written Memorial Prosecution & Defense and only 21 universities were to fulfill the first requirement; of the 21, the six best universities, Arba Minch, Haramaya, Jimma, Salale, Dire Dawa & Bahir Dar, were selected and contested for semi-final.  AMU’s Team beats Bahir Dar University’s Team at semi-final and competes with Haramaya University as a finalist contestant and became champion beating Harmaya University, Mr Emishaw explained.

He also noted that the AMU Contesting Team which consists Students Mekdelayit Fekade, Selamawit Yigzaw and Melat Gebremedhin along with the coach Mr Emishaw himself has been granted a chance to take part in all African Moot Competition to be held at Arusha, Tanzania in next November by representing Ethiopia.
