Arba Minch University will be conducting its 27th Convocation at Abaya Campus-based new Assembly Hall on 27th June 2015, from 8 am onwards, in the presence of various dignitaries, university top officials, academic, admin, support staff and relatives of the graduating students.

Around 11 committees comprised of 60 individuals from different departments accountable to the University President are entrusted with the identified tasks to host the grand event.
This event would be unique in many ways for this year over 4600 undergraduate including first ever batch of 34 Law and 100 graduate students would be passing out compared to the last year figures of 3230 and 65 respectively. Primarily Institute of Technology would again be scoring the brownie points for tentatively producing 2687 graduates.
Last three years’ statistics including 2006-7 EC show university’s sustained progress in the field of teaching and learning that is getting better with every passing year. In 2005 EC (2013), AMU had 2732 undergraduate and 37 graduates, in 2006 EC (2014), the figure went up by 18% in case of undergraduate (3230) and amazing 75% rise in graduating students’ number (65).
This year 2007EC (2015), university is expected to churn out 42.41% more UG graduates (4600) compared to the last year’s figure and with over 100 graduates compared to 65 of last year’s indicate marked rise of 53.84% pass-outs.
With last three years’ bracing statistics including 2007EC, Institute of Technology seems to have taken the quantum leap in producing graduates. In 2005 EC, it had 604 graduates that went up by whopping 149% to 1508 in 2006EC and in this academic year it’s poised to roll out around 2687 graduates, 78.18% more graduates compared to the last year.
