The training on pre – analytical practices related to Venous Blood Sample Collection, Handling  and Processing concluded yesterday with participants taking post test and getting certificates. Dr. Alamayehu Taye Director for Community Services  AMU gave the concluding speech and gave away certificates to all participants.  He had said that this training had given overview of health service  and training was based on research findings of community health practices for doing important laboratory tests.   Three researchers have prepared training materials and he acknowledged their contribution to this program.  He said, “In future you will apply this knowledge gained during the training in conducting tests.” Such trainings, he said,  will continue in future and he thanked the community health services of the college of Medicine and health service, AMU.  Certificates were distributed to successful participants after the trainees under went a post training test.

Earlier, the day had seen modules five, six and seven were told to the participants.  Module six discussed standard practice of Venous blood sample processing  covering, introduction to the subject, whole blood processed to a Serum or Plasma sample, pre centrifugation phase, centrifugation phase and post-centrifugation phase and lasted about 45 minutes.  The module seven covered writing standard operating Procedures (SOP) for Venous Blood sample collection and covered Definition, purpose common elements and common problems of SOPs besides successful implementation of SOPs.

The trainees had appreciated the training program and thanked the organizers in the end.
