AMU welcomes 27 PhD returnees; sets target for them

First time in the history of AMU, university in a program has accorded a warm welcome to its 27 staff members for completing PhDs from across the world in different streams. This maiden event will set the precedent as AMU has decided to welcome such group in February every year for acquiring PhDs; for it will encourage future PhD aspirants, said, Academic Affairs Vice President, Dr Yechale Kebede.

AMU hosts 6th national meet on science for sustainable development

Researchers from across 17 Ethiopian universities descended at AMU’s New Auditorium, Main Campus from 5th to 6th April, 2019, to cudgel their brains in finding sustaining scientific solutions to solve emerging societal problems thus enhancing quality of life by advancing science and maximizing its potential for socio-economic utility.Click here to see the Pictures

UIL-TTD to prospect gemstones for SNNPR Mines and Energy Agency

Arba Minch University’s University-Industry Linkage and Technology Transfer Directorate has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with South Nations Nationalities and People’s Region Mines and Energy Agency for gemstones mining at Bonke woreda in Gamo Zone.

‘UG program - Production Engineering, pivotal for industry’

Institute of Technology’s Faculty of Mechanical & Production Engineering has hosted a daylong workshop to promote an undergraduate program – ‘Production Engineering’ across Ethiopia in the presence of all stakeholders including delegates from various industries on 30th March, 2019, at New Hall, Main Campus. Project on Chamo: IUCN, stakeholders, GIZ mull FLR options

In a run-up to a new project to be helmed by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) that would restore degraded ecosystem endangering Chamo Lake and its agro-ecology has hosted inception workshop from 25th to 26th March, 2019, at Emerald Resort, Secha. The deliberated outcomes would provide a roadmap to identify restoration opportunities and duly shape up the interventional strategies.
