The School of Law was launched in 2010 as one of the departments under College of Social Science and Humanities to provide quality legal education, effective community service (legal) and conduct relevant socio-legal researches; in 2015, it has acquired status of a School and autonomy as well.
Since 2017, including one undergraduate (LLB), it has also launched two Master programs i.e. (LLM) in Human Right & Criminal Justice studies and MA in Human Right and Security Studies.
The School has two coordination offices manned by coordinators, accountable to its dean. Academic Affairs Coordination Office nurtures teaching-learning process while Community Service & Research Coordination office engage in research and community service (legal) endeavors.
In community service category, the School has been rendering some immensely significant services for those from socio-economic strata via programs such as legal aid, counseling, representation, advocacy (‘Yehig Menged’ - radio talk) and face-to-face awareness.

The School aspires to be the best in the nation and globally competent; while striving for academic excellence, it also aims to strengthen administration of justice and law in the country.
Mission
The School wants to produce competent legal professionals and also seeks to strengthen democracy, good governance, tolerance, equality, social justice and economic development through the dispensation of quality legal education, potential research and public service.
