Arba Minch University will be hosting its 33rd Convocation at Abaya Campus Stadium on 26th January, 2021. On the occasion, Federal, Regional, zonal and Town administration officials are among the invitees.

The aforesaid graduation which was expected to be held in July 2020 was delayed due to world-wide inconveniencies caused by Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, efforts are being made to put all necessary preparations in place to comply with required protocols under prevailing difficult circumstances.

In order to avoid crowding, AMU’s ICT Directorate has made arrangements for the live-streaming of the graduation ceremony on AMU’s official Facebook Page & YouTube Channel while Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation will also telecast live proceedings commencing from 8.30 am.

AMU Advisory Council members including prominent religious leaders, Arba Minch Town Mayor, invited guests, patrons, well-wishers, relatives of graduates and university community will also attend the ceremony.

For successful hosting of convocation, University President, Dr Damtew Darza, is heading the main committee under which 11 sub-panels manned by different officials are taking care of areas such as reception, advertising, media communication & entertainment, hospitality, arrangement & rehearsal, security, decoration, transportation, evaluation & implementation, stage-hall arrangement and exhibition.

Sawla Campus’ graduation will be held at its premises on 28th January, 2021; AMU top officials, invited guests and others are expected to be in attendance.
