AMU’s  College of Continuing & Distance Education,  is offering exciting summer courses.  Its dean Dr. Yechale Kabede Bizuneh.   says, “We are running different programs including teaching 10 + 3.  This is not for our regular students but we are jointly working with Arba Minch Teachers College.     He said that the certificate teachers are upgrading their education to diploma level and this is offered with Arba Minch Teachers College. About 1799 students are participating in this program, it is learnt.

 

Dr. Yechale says that he also got summer students in different programs of natural sciences, social sciences and humanities, Business and Economics.  He said that he is working with respective colleges in the University and staffs of AMU are teaching these courses.

There is a  shortage of staff, he says and Indian expatriate instructors are involved in College of Medicine and Health Sciences  and honorarium will be paid on per hour basis.

AMU is running distance and weekend programs in different place as Dr. Yechale says and it has different sites in Sawula, Jiinka, Konso and Soddo, AMU  is also  running evening programs in its campus, he  said.
