Institute of Technology of Arba Minch University in collaboration with Ethiopian Road Authority (ERA) is planning to launch two new Ethiopian Road Authority-sponsored Post-Graduate programs in addition to its previously run two courses (MSc in Geotechnical engineering & MSc in Construction Technology Management) during Summer 2006 EC academic year.

By launching two more PG programs, AMU would be adding to its tally of previously run two Masters; newly introduced PG programs are as follow:

  • MSc in Hydraulic Engineering
  • MSc in Environmental Engineering

Admission requirement for all the four PG programs is given below:

1. MSc in Geotechnical engineering

  • Successfully completed BSc degree in civil engineering and related engineering fields
  • A minimum of two years work experience

2. MSc in Construction Technology Management

  • Successfully completed BSc degree in civil engineering and related engineering fields
  • A minimum of two years work experience

3. MSc in Hydraulic Engineering

  • Successfully completed BSc in Hydraulic, Irrigation, Water Supply, Water Resources and related engineering fields.
  • A minimum of two years work experience

4. MSc in Environmental Engineering

  • Successfully completed BSc in Hydraulic, Irrigation, Water Supply, Environmental, Water Resources and Related fields
  • A minimum of two years work experience

Documents required and Application Place:

Applicants are requested to submit their two copies of detail CV, copy of academic records (transcripts and diploma), two recommendation letters, one from the employer and one from school with passport size photographs to Ethiopian Road Authority, Head Office in Addis Ababa, near Mexico or at Arba Minch University’s Liaisoning Office in Addis Ababa, near Arat Kilo during working hours and at Arba Minch University’s Post Graduate new building in the Main Campus.

Application Date:

Applicants are advised to submit the above documents from 17th to 27th June, 2014. Final written entrance exam will be conducted on 3rd July, 2014, at Ethiopian Road Authority Head Office, Addis Ababa and at Arba Minch University’s Civil Engineering Department, Main Campus, Arba Minch.

Admitted students will be notified shortly and they need to join Arba Minch University in the second week of July, 2014.

Tuition fee:

Tuition fee for those students admitted to the above mentioned programs are waived off. However, respective students or their employers are requested to cover their living cost during the study period.
