Arba Minch University’s Institute of Technology has inked a general Memorandum of Understanding with Hawassa University’s Institute of Technology to initiate collaborative activities between AMU’s Faculty of Architecture & Urban Planning and HU’s Faculty of Civil Engineering & Built Environment. Arba Minch University in Collaboration with the National Council for the Coordination ofPublic Participation onthe Construction of the Grand Renaissance Dam planned to conduct a one-day workshop and 4 days poster/plate presentation session of the GERD. The topic of this workshop is “Intellectuals and Citizens Engagement for GERD Realization”.In this workshop, we are tentatively planning to have a maximum of two papersfor presentations related to GERD/ABAY BASIN hydro-politics and any research work done in the basin.The paper/s shall mainly focus on Water Availability, Water Management, PublicDiplomacy/Water Politics, Soiland Water Conservation, Environmental Issues Related to WaterManagement Focusing on BLUE NILE and Preferably on the GERD.

Arba Minch University and its France-based partner - International Centre of Pure Applied Mathematics (CIMPA) has organized 2-week-long online training program entitled ‘Optimal Control and Applications in Engineering’ at Haile Resort, Arba Minch, beginning from 29th March to 8th April, 2021.
