Bio:

Dr. Belay Tafa have been working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Arba Minch University (AMU) since 2010. He possess a strong foundation in Environmental Science and Chemistry, with expertise in Environmental Pollution Control and Management, Environmental Remediation, Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology, Industrial Pollution, Advanced Oxidation Process and Soil Health and Fertility. My research focuses on assessing, mitigating, and remediating various environmental pollutants, including industrial waste and their impact on soil and water quality. Dr. Belay earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from the renowned Tianjin University, China, in 2022. He has a proven track record of research excellence, evidenced by 31 peer-reviewed publications in high-impact international journals, been cited more than 540 times, and has an H-and I10-index factor of 14 and 17, respectively (Google Scholar). He actively contribute to the academic community as a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Integrated Environmental Assessment and Management (Wiley) and as a reviewer for various academic journals. Furthermore, Dr. Belay has been actively involved in academic administration at AMU, currently serving as the Coordinator of Publication and Grant & Collaborative Projects Management at the College of Natural and Computational Sciences. He supervise and mentor graduate students in the Chemistry department and serve as the Case Handler for PG students in the department.
