Arba Minch University (AMU), College of Natural and Computational Sciences (CNCS) Department of Mathematics, hosted the five-day African Workshop on Machine Learning, Optimization and Applications (AWMOA 2026) from June 8–12, 2026, at Abaya Campus. The workshop brought together researchers, academicians, and graduate students from Ethiopia and abroad to explore recent advances in machine learning, optimization, and their practical applications. The academic program featured a diverse lineup of high-level technical presentations, expert-led training sessions, and scholarly talks delivered by AMU faculty members, invited international experts, and PhD students from various institutions across Africa and beyond. Arba Minch University successfully hosted the 24th International Symposium on Sustainable Water Resources Development at the Arba Minch University Water Technology Institute main campus from May 22–23, 2026. The symposium brought together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, development partners, and students to discuss pressing issues related to sustainable water resources development in Ethiopia, Africa, and beyond.
