ARBA MINCH, ETHIOPIA – Arba Minch University (AMU), in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and GOPA, has reached a significant milestone in environmental research with the acquisition of state-of-the-art monitoring infrastructure. Under the KfW-supported Sustainable Land Management Program Phase V (SLMP-V), the university received three GPRS-enabled Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) and six Automatic River Gauging Stations, significantly bolstering its capacity to monitor the Lake Chamo watershed. የሀገራችን የብልጽግና እና የቁርጠኝነት ተምሳሌት በሆነው በታላቁ የኢትዮጵያ ህዳሴ ግድብ (GERD) ንጋት ሃይቅ ላይ ሲካሄድ የቆየው ዘመናዊ የውሃ ውስጥ የመሬት አቀማመጥ እና ጥልቀት ልኬት (Bathymetric Survey) የመጀመርያ ምዕራፍ መጠናቀቅን አስመልክቶ የተዘጋጀው የምህንድስና ካርታ የዩኒቨርስቲው ከፍተኛ አመራሮች በተገኙበት ለኢትዮጵያ ማሪታይም ባለስልጣን በይፋ አስረክቧል። በዚህ የርክክብ ስነ-ስርዓት ላይ የሁሉም ባለድርሻ ተቋማት ከፍተኛ አመራሮች ተገኝተዋል። ተጨማሪ ፎቶዎችን ለማየት እዚህ ይጫኑ፡፡

Arba Minch University successfully hosted the 24th International Symposium on Sustainable Water Resources Development at the Arba Minch University Water Technology Institute main campus from May 22–23, 2026. The symposium brought together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, development partners, and students to discuss pressing issues related to sustainable water resources development in Ethiopia, Africa, and beyond.
