Professor Paulos Taddesse Shibeshi was born on September 21, 1971 GC. He is a full professor in physics in the Department of Physics, College of Natural and Computation Science at Arba Minch University. He received his Ph.D. in physics from Andhra University, India; M.Sc. in Physics from Addis Ababa University, B.Ed. in Physics from Alemaya University, and Diploma in Physics from Bahrdar Teachers College, Addis Ababa University.

Professor Paulos has served as a director of the students’ service center, Dean of education faculty, Dean of natural and Computational science, and Vice-dean, as well as Associate Registrar of education faculty at AMU. He received the certificate of appreciation award twice for his significant contributions to the establishment of effective and quality service delivery within the Student Service Center Directorate during his tenure as director at Arba Minch University.

Professor Paulos has published more than 37 peer-reviewed articles in most of the leading international journals. He has conducted more than 12 paper presentations at professional conferences and received the inaugural award for outstanding research and oral presentation during the National Symposium on "Recent Trends and Future Perspectives in Material Science (RTFPMS-2013)," which was took place on June 28th and 29th, 2013, hosted by the Department of Inorganic & Analytical Chemistry at Andhra University.

Professor Paulos has been conducting three research projects financed by AMU. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Ethiopian Journal of Sciences and Sustainable Development and an associate editor of the OMO International Journal of Science. He has also reviewed more than 23 articles for different journals (Elsevier, Springer, etc.). He has examined 6 foreign Ph.D. dissertations from the Physics Department and Engineering Chemistry at Andhra University, India; and one Ph.D. dissertation from the Department of Applied Physics, College of Natural and Computational Science, Adama Science and Technology University, Ethiopia

Professor Paulos supervised 43 MSc students in physics, 21 MSc students in Materials Science and Engineering, and one MSc student in Biotechnology (a total of 60 students) who have successfully completed their theses. Currently, 7 Ph.D. students in materials Physics and 5 MSc students in Materials Science and Engineering are doing their research work under his guidance and he has been teaching Ph.D., MSc. courses.
