Bio:
The research titled "Aerodynamic design optimization of locally built FSR Isuzu buses through numerical simulation" by Yirga Kiros Kahsay and Dinku Seyoum Zeleke focuses on improving the fuel efficiency and aerodynamic performance of the FSR Isuzu buses. Using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and SolidWorks modeling, the study aimed to reduce drag forces, fuel consumption, and improve crosswind stability by redesigning the bus's external body and incorporating roof strips. Key findings include: 1 A reduction in drag force by 49.7% and fuel savings of approximately 29.58% at 100 km/h. 2 Enhanced crosswind stability, with reduced side force and roll moment coefficients by 8.76% and 9.01%, respectively. 3 Significant aerodynamic improvements through diffuser angle adjustments and roof strips. This research demonstrates how design modifications can substantially increase efficiency and sustainability in public transportation.
