Bio:

Dagnew is an Assistant Professor of Linguistics. Over the course of his academic career, Dagnew has demonstrated a strong commitment to research excellence. He has led significant number of projects as a principal investigator and contributed to many others as a co-investigator. He has over 19 years of experience in teaching, research and community engagement projects.  He currently serves as a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Tsukuba, Japan—a prestigious international fellowship awarded to outstanding researchers. He has also made significant contributions to academic administration and scholarly service. He served as Research and Project Internationalization Coordinator at Arba Minch University in 2024 and 2025, as Postgraduate Programs Case Handler from 2022 to 2024, and has served as an editorial board member of the AMU Journal of Culture and Language Studies since 2023.
