Moreover, Dr. Damtew has served at various levels of academic leadership positions as: coordinator, special assistant for academic vice president, academic vice president and president of Arba Minch University.  Dr. Damtew has conducted various thematic and grand researches and has six publication of research work results.  Currently, in addition to presidential service, he is teaching and supervising graduate students in the department of psychology in the university.

    In general, his professional expertise in teaching and research works is in the areas of teaching learning methodology, educational assessment and guidance and counseling.
