Strategic goal and importance for AMU
👉The AWTI Freshman Students Common Course Coordination Office is a strategic academic support unit of Arba Minch Water Technology Institute (AWTI), Arba Minch University, established to coordinate, facilitate, monitor, and continuously improve the delivery of high-quality, inclusive, student-centered, and technology-supported common courses for freshman students. The Office works to provide students with a strong academic foundation and essential competencies in communication, mathematics, critical thinking, digital literacy, emerging technologies, entrepreneurship, ethics, civic responsibility, social and cultural awareness, and problem-solving, while supporting effective transition into disciplinary education and lifelong learning. Through coordinated course planning and implementation, instructor collaboration, academic monitoring, assessment, student support, feedback, quality assurance, and continuous improvement, the Office promotes academic excellence, equity and inclusion, innovation, accountability, collaboration, and social responsibility. In alignment with the vision, mission, and core values of Arba Minch University, the Office contributes to transformative higher education, research-oriented learning, community engagement, university–industry linkage, and the development of competent, ethical, innovative, digitally literate, and socially responsible graduates capable of contributing to national and global development.
