Arba Minch Institute of Technology/AMiT/ of Arba Minch University/AMU/ and Malta College of Arts Sciences and Technology/MCAST/ have inked a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a collaborative partnership aimed at enhancing student exchange, upgrading teaching standards, and promoting academic and cultural development on March 12, 2024, at Addis Ababa Sky-light Hotel, Ethiopia. The agreement outlined various areas of cooperation between the two institutions.

The objective of the agreement includes the exchange and mobility of students between campuses, coordination of academic events, joint research initiatives, development and delivery of joint courses, and other forms of academic cooperation as mutually agreed. The partnership also aims to provide high-quality education through joint responsibility in curriculum development across various academic disciplines represented at both institutions.

Dr. Muluneh Lemma, Scientific Director of Arba Minch Institute of Technology (AMiT) at Arba Minch University emphasized the university's commitment to leveraging its expertise and resources to benefit the community and various disciplines through this partnership. Mr. Stephen Vella, Deputy Principal of Malta College of Arts Sciences and Technology, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration and highlighted the college's dedication to achieving shared success.

The signing ceremony, attended by His Excellency Ronald Micallef, Maltese Ambassador to Ethiopia, and Maxine Micallef, International Business Development Manager, MCAST Gateway to Industry. The signing marked the beginning of a strategic alliance focused on fostering strong relationships, direct cooperation, and communication between the two educational institutions.
