Academic Affairs V/Corporate Directorate Director

The office of Academic Affairs Vice Corporate Director (AAVCD) is accountable to the Chief Executive Director (CED) and also reports to Academic affairs vice president. The office leads overall academic affair of College of Medicine and Health Science, including Arba Minch University Teaching and Comprehensive Referral Hospital (AMU-TCRH). It forms the management council team, plans and coordinates the activities of all departments, Schools, directorates and units of the college to render quality medical education and ensures the recruitment and retention of a qualified academic work force that enables the college to discharge its activities. It also facilitate the clinical services and teaching undertaken in the hospital, forms and leads a senior management team comprised of directors, department heads, and any other offices deemed necessary and formulates standards and work procedures relevant to the academic units in the hospital in line with university wide or national policies, rules and regulation as appropriate.

The AAVCD office facilitates and oversees the proper and optimal distribution of learning materials and equipment, library resources, facilities, halls, auditorium, classrooms, laboratories and computers etc., initiates and facilitates external relations with a view of forging partnerships with academic institutions, philanthropists and the industry. In addition it coordinates collective planning and work towards aligning the academic units and their programs with greater inter disciplinary ties and joint operations, facilitates the smooth operation of the registrar office and develop recognition mechanisms for academic staff.

Five (5) Directorates, fourteen (40) departments and two (2) offices are accountable to the Academic Affairs Vice Corporate Director (AAVCD) and assist with academic functions.
