Lot has to be done on epidemiological study on Enset: Sabura Shara

AMU’s PhD scholar Sabura Shara at KU Leuven, Belgium, presently engaged in investigating how Enset Bacterial Wilt (EBW) disease spread, susceptibility aspect and role of soil nutrients that might be causing severity is his main research focus. Being half-way through he could only offer some palpable reasons, while credible outputs are yet to come up; following is excerpt of his interview. Click here to see the pictures.

4th QTR target: Right job for apt qualification, next year planning

With curtain coming down on 3rd Quarter, AMU on the all fronts seems to have almost achieved the stipulated target. President, Dr Damtew Darza in a brief interaction vouched for things done; informs what’s lagging behind and discloses expected tasks to be performed in the 4th quarter.

Center for Livestock and Fishery Research hosts 1st review workshop

Newly formed Center for Livestock and Fishery Research (CLFR) of Arba Minch University has recently hosted its maiden research review workshop at Kulfo Campus, wherein six projects on ruminant nutrition, animal health, dairy & meat value chain analysis, poultry production and fish ecology were presented. IoT signs MoU with Chinese firms to enhance sugar production

Arba Minch University’s Institute of Technology has signed a tripartite agreement with China’s Guangxi Vocational & Technical Institute of Industry and Guangxi Construction Engineering Group No.1 Installation Company Limited that is expected to ensure cutting-edge knowhow and training to AMU staff in enhancing sugar production and creating jobs in the sector.
