Adding further, today as the world grapples with the pressing challenges of climate change, rapid urbanization, resource deflation and the growing need for resilient infrastructure and sustainable solutions, we have to rise to the occasion with innovative, practical and inclusive solutions to the problems and challenges. This conference serves as a vital platform to exchange ideas, research findings and experiences that will shape the future of engineering and technology in the sense of sustainable development, he underscored.
Muluneh Lemma (PhD), AMiT Scientific Director, briefed that our theme for ICET 2025 emphasizes a dual focus of innovation and sustainability. As we confront global challenges like climate change, energy scarcity, digital transformation, and equitable development, it is clear that engineering and technology have to be at the heart of the solution that must evolve in ways that are inclusive, resilient, and sustainable, he noted. At AMU - AMiT, we are committed to nurturing a culture of research excellence and innovation that serves the local community and extends to the global sphere. This conference reflects our dedication to being a hub of scientific advancement and a bridge between academic inquiry and real-world impact, he underscored.
The guest of honor and the first key note speaker, Sultan Welle (PhD, Ing.), State Minister, Ministry of Water and Energy, said, energy is the most inter-parameter for all kinds of economic growth. Researches and studies have been conducted just to know the correlation between energy consumption and growth of the nation and the result shows as energy consumption of the nation increases, its product increases; therefore; we cannot realize prosperity, economic growth, and civilization without sustainable, affordable and creatable supply of energy and that is why we are aggressively working on to develop different kinds of energy resources from natural resources we have, he noted.
