Strengthening its commitment to strategic collaboration, Arba Minch University (AMU) signed a partnership agreement with the South Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (SECCSA) on 24 November, 2025 at the President’s Office, Main Campus. Click here to see more photos.
Speaking on behalf of the University during the signing ceremony, AMU President Dr. Ing. Abdella Kemal noted that AMU is committed to working closely with the public sector to build a strong framework that bridges the gap between academia and industry. He emphasized that the partnership will facilitate resource sharing, specialized trainings, and all activities outlined in the MoU, adding that AMU will follow through with full dedication to ensure mutual benefit for both institutions.
Mr. Bogale Bitane, President of SECCSA, signed the agreement on behalf of the Chamber and stated that the partnership aims to enhance and strengthen cooperation in key areas, including internships, apprenticeships, and job placement opportunities for AMU students. He highlighted that the collaboration will also support the development and facilitation of grant calls, contribute to curriculum development to ensure alignment with industry needs, engage in community-based projects and initiatives, and advocate for policies that promote economic growth and educational advancement.
The agreement commits both parties to conduct joint research, promote technology transfer, nurture future entrepreneurs, and expand their network to include other key institutions. The MoU takes effect immediately upon signing and will remain valid for five years. The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials of AMU.
