PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The She-FERA (She-Food and Economic Resilience in Agriculture) Project addresses food insecurity and poverty in drought-prone districts of Southern Ethiopia by promoting climate-resilient moringa (Shifera)-based agroforestry integrated with sorghum and beans. The project will benefit 1,500 households (9,287 people) by improving nutrition, livelihoods, and market opportunities, particularly for women and youth. Implemented over 36 months (2025–2028), the project employs participatory monitoring and learning systems. Arba Minch University (AMU) plays a pivotal role by providing research, technical expertise, capacity building, and evidence generation to strengthen implementation, sustainability, and scaling of the moringa value chain.
