World is running out of land, says Dr Rogier

‘‘Today, the world is facing most crucial problem of sustainable food security because it’s fast reaching 13 billion population marks, and seems to be running out of land. The dietary shift further has compounded the issue and it would need 60% more food by 2050,’’ said Dr Rogier Schulte, Leader for Translational Research on Sustainable Food Production from The Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority (Teagasc).

Tech Transfer Coordination Office evaluates innovational proposals

Arba Minch University’s Technology Transfer Coordination Office has organized a daylong ‘Evaluation of innovational research proposals,’ at Lecture Theatre, Main Campus on December 4, 2014.The program began with Community Service Directorate’s Director, Dr Alemayehu Taye, apprising the gathering with the real aspects of multi-dimensional research in academic field.

External review for UG program in Production & Metal Engineering held

This BSc program in ‘Production & Metal Engineering,’ is unique as it’s in the interest of Ethiopia. We are indebted to the Ministry of Education for requesting Arba Minch University to introduce programs in metal production engineering, sugar production and textile; but we chose this one keeping in view the human resource available to us, said Institute of Technology’s Scientific Director, Dr Negash Wagesho.
