AMU sets up free legal aid cells; begins awareness drive via Radio FM

Arba Minch University by passionately indulging in altruistic endeavor has reiterated that it’s not merely an institution of physical nature; but has a heart that palpitates for poor and needy!

In a move to heighten its many community service initiatives, AMU has recently set up two special Legal Aid Cells in Arba Minch; one at Gamo Gofa Higher Court, Secha and another one at Arba Minch City First Instance Court, Sikela.

ICT symposium postponed, to be held from Oct 10

Information Communication Technology (ICT) Directorate of Arba Minch University’s three-day symposium which was slated to be held from 19th to 21st September has been postponed due to some uncertain reason.

The symposium will now be held at Main Campus from 10th to 12th October. Other details of the event stand unchanged as mentioned in the previous report, ICT Director Mr Yoseph Debele stated.

The Arba Minch University community is fully geared up to celebrate nation's sixth National Flag Day under the theme - ''Our flag is realization of our diversity and renaissance', at its Main Campus on September 23, 2013.

It's a phenomenal event for each Ethiopian to express solidarity with firmer resolve to stand together to realize an Ethiopian renaissance and to commemorate Ethiopian sacrifice paid to defend the land. Click here to see the images from the Flag-Day

Institutional transformation office has new plans

The Institutional Transformation office AMU has chalked out plans and revealing this is Mr. Debalke Dalcho, its director. Key activities of this office are in supporting of teachings, learning community service, research and others to strengthen as well to bring change in the institution in AMU.While doing it, it has four primary goals and are a. Creating an institution that leads change b. Realizing continuation of this institution created c. Evaluating standards of key instruments, as this is the major activity of institutional transformation and d. Entering this changed institution and resource in to the arena of development.
