In a run-up to a new project to be helmed by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) that would restore degraded ecosystem endangering Chamo Lake and its agro-ecology has hosted inception workshop from 25th to 26th March, 2019, at Emerald Resort, Secha. The deliberated outcomes would provide a roadmap to identify restoration opportunities and duly shape up the interventional strategies.

AMU is bracing up for unique project that in all probability will be a bellwether in restoring Ethiopia’s entire Forest Landscape as Lake Chamo’s deteriorating agro-ecology and its watershed is all set to get total overhaul. International Union for Conservation of Nature influenced by in-depth research outcomes of Dr Fasil Eshetu, GIZ and other stakeholders are on the same page in launching a yearlong project called - ‘Lake Chamo Basin Landscape Restoration Opportunity Assessment with ROAM,’ said Dr Fasil Eshetu. In this year’s annual review workshop, AMU’s Research Directorate has reviewed overall 274 projects of which 251 are ongoing and 23 completed. The workshop beginning from 17th to 18th March, 2019, at Main Campus, has critically evaluated and discussed five completed research findings; while remaining projects were simultaneously reviewed at different colleges on the last day.Click here to See the Image
