Arba Minch University (AMU) and Christian Aid inaugurated an exceptional and exemplary off-grid rural electrification Micro Hydropower Project at Dingamo Kebele, Kamba Zuria Woreda, Gamo Zone, South Ethiopia Region, with a substantial investment of over 19 million ETB on May 10, 2025. Mr. Tagesse Chafo, Speaker of the House of Peoples’ Representatives of FDRE, Mr. Tilahun Kebede, South Ethiopia Regional State Administrator, Habtamu Itefa (PhD, Ing.), Minister of Water and Energy, Mr. Alemu Gonchere, Kamba Zuria Woreda Administrator, Mr. Netsanet Feleke, Christian Aid Program Manager and Official Delegate for the Country Director, Abdella Kemal (PhD, Ing.) የአርባ ምንጭ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የሥነ- ትምህርትና ሥነ-ባህርይ ሳይንስ ትምህርት ቤት የሳይኮሎጂ ትምህርት ክፍል የ2ኛ አመት ተማሪ የሆነው ናትናኤል ፀጉ አሰፋ ከጓደኛው ጋር በተፈጠረ የግል ፀብ በደረሰበት ጥቃት ዛሬ ጠዋት ሚያዚያ 28 ቀን 2017 ዓ/ም ከፍተኛ ጉዳት ደርሶበታል:: በመሆኑም ሕይወቱን ለማትረፍ በአርባ ምንጭ አጠቃላይ ሆስፒታል ከፍተኛ ርብርብ ቢደረግም ሳይሳካ በመቅረቱ ማምሻውን 12:30 ላይ ሕይወቱ አልፏል።

Arba Minch Institute of Technology (AMiT) hosted the 6th International Conference on Innovation and Challenges in Engineering and Technology for Sustainable Development (ICET) on 3rd May, 2025; 14 papers were presented among which12 were from 8 universities across Ethiopia, 1 from Federal University of Technology, Nigeria, and 1 from Ethio-Djibouti Railway Share Company and 4 from AMU.
